So many people will be writing about the House of Representatives passing the Waxman-Markey cap-and-tax bill on Friday afternoon that I will for now keep my comments relatively brief.

First of all, this may not be a bad thing because it’s a tremendous weapon to use against many Democrats and the 8 Republicans who voted for the bill. (More on that in a minute.)

A voter-approved amendment that's helped slow campaign contributions in Colorado was temporarily lifted Tuesday by Denver District Court Judge Catherine A. Lemon, who several times called the rules discriminatory and confusing.
She largely agreed with the collection of business, labor and non-profit leaders who argued that Amendment 54 - approved by 51 percent of voters...


Witnessed Monday just off the Senate floor:

Sen. Michael Bennet came out of the chamber and was waiting for an elevator. A reporter nearby leans over and asks, "Who is that?" and another reporter whispers, "Oh, that's Michael Bennet, he replaced Ken Salazar."

The Colorado Democrat overheard the conversation and as he gets on the lift, he says, "No one can replace Ken Salazar."
