Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal today endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president, saying he is the best choice "for the Democratic Party, and this country."

Freudenthal, a Democrat in a state that is largely Republican, said Obama can move the country beyond "the vicious partisanship that characterizes" politics and policy-making in Washington, D.C.

In Wyoming's Democratic caucuses in March, Obama won 61 percent of the vote compared to 38 percent for rival Hillary Clinton. Mitt Romney won the state's Republican caucuses, held in January.
