Ritter withholds support of cap & trade bill

Testifying in the US Senate today, Gov. Bill Ritter ducked the question from Sen. Jim Inhofe as to whether he supports the Waxman-Markey cap and trade bill recently passed by the House.

Facing reelection in 2010 and with Inhofe stipulating the bill's devastating impact on our state's energy and farm sectors, Ritter must sense a climate change in Colorado politics.

Paul Chesser of American Spectator has the transcript here, including a link to video from YouTube, courtesy of Colorado's own Michelle Malkin.  Watch the video and notice the squirmy nervousness in Ritter's face, voice, and body language as he tries to wiggle past a direct yes or no.  Great stuff.

Don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, eh, Guv?

Great stuff from the great stiff, John Andrews.

I hope everyone took the time to view the video from "Colorado's own Michelle Malkin". If there was any squirming and nervousness going on it was from Mr. Bible Belt Jimmy Inhofe who's smarmy displeasure with Governor Ritter's clear response was obvious at the close of the video.

Ritter said in his response to Inhofe's loaded political questioning: "I support a national energy policy thats married to a national climate policy that gets us to the goals of greenhouse gas reductions. I believe that if you do that there will be some vehicle that may not look exactly like Waxman Markey particularly after the Senate finishes it's work. But I very much support climate legislation that is joined with a national energy policy to get us to the green house gas emissions reduction goals that are set for 2050".

The wind is blowing through Mr. Andrews empty head. Michelle Malkin is Colorado's own? Colorado's own what may I ask. Freak show or lunatic fringe fanatic.
