A few days ago, I posted a note from Pueblo's Sheila Conlee in a discussion about whether Democratic women would support John McCain in any significant numbers.
I thanked Ms. Conlee for getting in touch with me and asked her to send along any further developments or thoughts. Sunday evening I received the following from her:

Hi Ross:
You are very welcome. I plan to answer most blogs a little later as I want to clear up the fact that I wasn't quoted correctly, or at all for that matter, in the Pueblo Chieftain. I did not choose to vote for John McCain simply because I am trying to pay back the Democrats for not choosing Hillary.
The fact is that I was watching CNN and MSNBC daily during the primaries and realized over a year ago how biased they were against her and for Obama. I held my nose and started watching Fox News, which was the only place I felt I could find some truth. I then and have since been trying to research both candidates and have wavered back and forth between Obama and McCain, finally settling on McCain mostly due to his tax policies. As a real estate investor I do not like Obama's idea of raising capital gains. I am also against bringing back the death tax.
I have been busy because as you know Obama held a rally here on Saturday on Union Avenue where my Antique store is located. The Secret Service came in Thursday evening and told me they were going to put barriers in front of my front door from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday. I cannot tell you how this annoyed me and many of my fellow merchants as Saturday is our busiest day of the week. In this economy we all need all of the income we can get, and basically we all felt that giving up our wages for his campaign was really a donation to his campaign, which I would not do.
Then, to make matters worse, they started erecting the stage near my store on Friday morning and therefore thru traffic was prohibited, so Friday AND Saturday sales were nothing. The story gets worse.
Many of us called the news stations and Pueblo Chieftain who ran an article stating that we were disgruntled. The antique dealers were more upset as there are 2 antique shows here per year, and Saturday was one of them. We all have increased business that day as people drive down from Springs and Denver to the show and then come down to antique in the district.
Anyway, I was so upset by this, I decided to post some signs in my windows such as "I am Sheila the Shop Owner, and lost my wages today thanks to you Obama", "Democrat for McCain", and "Socialism is not Democratic". Whew..........this made sparks fly. The Obama people were in my store and begging me to not call the news agencies. I asked them to please reimburse all of us who lost that day (without being asked ahead of time), and they told me they couldn't. They did offer to seat me in VIP seating and said they wanted me to meet Mr. Obama, which I declined to do.
I couldn't get near my store until about 5 p.m. last night and the McCain campaign had scheduled more press interviews @ 5:30. When I arrived in front of my shop, I realized that the Obama campaign had placed porta potties on each end of my building, and had placed 2 tarps up between them and a street light so as to block the view of my windows!
I think this is only the beginning of what we will see if Obama is elected. My First Amendment rights and my right to open and operate my business were blocked because of his arrogance. He could have rented any venue here with his millions of $$$, but nope, during the worst economic crisis in decades he chose to take money out of our pockets for his own gain. You can read about this on facethestate.com.
I am attaching a couple of photographs so you can see what happened.
What an amazing election this is and I am happy to be here to see the first African American finally running for office. I am sad that I won't be voting for him. I only wish it had been Condoleeza Rice or Colin Powell. That would have been perfect!
Thanks so much for "listening"
Sheila Conlee
Russ Kaminsky's porta potty oppression.
Wow Russ. What a story. Can't wait until AP picks up on this and it goes national. The horror of it all. It is certainly a tragic blot on our history when a presidential "machine" gets off the pot and oppresses an antique dealer. This is the stuff of nighmares. Its Watergate all over again.
"When my devotion to my morning coffee ends, my devotion to my porta potty begins". Russ Kaminsky.
Keep up the great work Russ.
There's no very polite way to say this...
but you're really an idiot.
Of course AP won't pick it up, but a major conservative blog did and I'd bet over 10,000 people are aware of the story now.
Not everything is Watergate. But not everything smaller than Watergate is irrelevant.
Believe me, if this were being done by the McCain campaign, you'd be screaming about it.
Anyway, John, thanks for continuing to show us that America is about to get the government YOU deserve.
