Political junkies looking for gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Democratic National Convention will be able to see live streaming video online at Demconvention.com, organizers said today.
Some video will be segmented and archived on the site, with certain selections uploaded to YouTube.com. There will also be an Internet feed with live Spanish translation.
Microsoft's Silverlight technology will offer multi-media options, such as seeing a speaker's biography and speech text while viewing the event live online.
Officials said they expect 20 million network and cable TV viewers (and perhaps another 20 million online) on Aug. 28, when Barack Obama is scheduled to accept the Democratic nomination for president at Invesco Field at Mile High.
And what happens if a protest intrudes on the convention's own gavel-to-gavel live Webcast? Aaron Myers, director of online communications for the Democratic National Convention Committee, explains in the PoliticsWest video below.
DNC events list
The best list for events during the DNC I've run across so far is at

you need to do the free registration for the site, but the event list looks pretty decent and apparently it's updated daily
