Sen. John McCain intends to meet with the Dalai Lama in Colorado on Friday, a campaign aide told PoliticsWest. Details to come. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is scheduled to be in-state to give an address to the American G.I. Forum in Denver.
The Dalai Lama is scheduled to be in Aspen as part of "A Celebration of Tibetan Culture," hosted by the Aspen Institute today through Saturday. Politico has more.
According to this Web site, the Dalai Lama is completing a visit today in Madison, Wis.
The Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, wrote a letter to McCain in March thanking him for speaking out on behalf of Tibet, reported The Washington Post.
