The DNC and bold names are hooking up faster than kids on prom night. The Washington Post says we should look for Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Forest Whitaker and Edward Norton, reports Bill Husted.

Musically, early names include Usher, Kanye West and Wyclef Jean. Sheryl Crow is down to headline the Green Concert at Red Rocks on Aug. 24, with Earth, Wind & Fire and a giant headliner to be announced next week.

There's lots of chatter that a big act will open for Barack Obama before his acceptance speech at Invesco on Aug. 28. Curiously, Bruce Springsteen's tour goes on hiatus after his Aug. 24 gig in Kansas City, Mo., resuming Aug. 30 in Milwaukee.
