Denver to be celeb central for Dems

We're starting to get more buzz on big names coming to Denver for the Democratic National Convention, reports Bill Husted.

Christina Aguilera is skedded to perform for a smallish crowd at the Rock the Vote party Aug. 25 — maybe at one of Regas Christou's South Broadway clubs. When Aguilera's in Denver, she usually plays the Pepsi Center. This should give you some idea of what's in store. The biggest rumor out there: Oprah will take over Bar Standard every night for big private parties.

That's news to Bar Standard boss Christou — who says Oprah Winfrey would be more likely to take over The Church. But he does confirm that his hippest properties (which include Bar Standard, The Church, Vinyl and the place called 2 a.m.) are reserved for the four nights of the convention, Aug. 25-28.
