A group of doctors, politicians and reproductive-rights leaders campaigned today from the Capitol steps against a ballot initiative to define personhood as starting at the moment of fertilization, reports Electa Draper.
Calling their campaign "Protect Families, Protect Choices," group members said they represent a broad coalition opposing the amendment extending constitutional rights and due process of law to the unborn. They said such a law would allow the government to intrude into Coloradans' private medical decisions.
