"I thought it was the most lackluster State of the Union in my 11 years in Congress. He had no real policy proposals, except for some recycled proposals from the past," said Rep. Diana DeGette, a Denver Democrat and frequent ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

"I thought it was a masterful speech...The huge thing that was different from last year was the whole treatment of Iraq. Last year it was depressing because so much violence was going on and the way out was not clear. This time the surge has worked," said Rep.
