David Olinger has worked at The Denver Post for 10 years.

As a member of its investigative team, he won the 2002 Sidney Hillman Foundation award for a series of stories on predatory investors who persuaded homeowners facing foreclosure to sign deeds transferring home ownership to the investors.

He has also investigated the gun-show loopholes that enabled the Columbine High killers to arm themselves, Colorado's high child abuse death rate and the subprime lending crisis.

Last year, he and two other reporters won the Society of American Business Writers and Editors project award and were finalists for a Loeb award for a series of stories on Colorado's nation-leading foreclosure rate.

He previously worked at the St. Petersburg Times in Florida and the Concord Monitor in New Hampshire.

David is married to Jenny Deam, a magazine writer. They have three children.
